Roots reggae group Dubtonic Kru create songs & spoken words that are consciously thought provoking while musically brilliant – walking you through the passage of time with a gritty sound that rolls stones and breaks fences.
The founding members are Deleon “Jubba” White and Strickland “Stone” Stone, a dynamic drum & bass duo who, over the years have contributed much to the development of modern roots reggae.
The Kru has gained about a decade and a half of experience from touring and/or recording with the legendary likes of Max Romeo, U-Roy, Burning Spear, and The Mighty Diamonds, as well as modern day artists such as Bushman, Junior Kelly, Richie Spice, Lutan Fyah and Voicemail.
The unique aggregation that is the “Dubtonic Kru” in addition to its strong dub section, boast two up front, rounded singers – Kamau, “the quiet warrior” adds a powerful and revolutionary voice, along with his energetic role on percussions, and Jallanzo adds an equally unique and versatile voice in addition to hypnotizing guitar riffs. Their contributions, alongside Jubba and Stone’s rhythms, twirl around the young and talented Luke Dixon’s magical hands on the keyboards.
